Dem bois are back.
Even though I'm passionate about both Kpop and Korean make-up, this was my first experience using this crossover line between VT Cosmetics and BTS. I noticed that the set boasted two lip tints which was an instant draw for me, and the packaging both on the box and the cushion were what sealed it. Not to mention that this edition came with an exclusive card, showing off all the Bangtan Sonyeondan members.
I love the star theme, and the whole edition is really aesthetically pleasing. Even just having the packaging sitting on my make-up table is nice.
However, it's what's inside that counts, so what do I think of the actual products?
Let's start with the lip tints. Again, gorgeous packaging, and the application is easy. These colors are really nice too, but for everyday wear I'm more inclined towards the lighter shade just because the other, richer red is probably better saved for a night out.
Unlike some other lip tints I've tried, these aren't dry at all and honestly apply like butter. The only thing I could see being an issue in the long run is the need for touch-ups because neither of these seemed to stain much, at least not for me. That's ideal in my opinion though, as I sometimes like to switch hues during the day anyway.
These tints are good but for daily use I reckon I'll still stick to my Cherry Blossom tint from Daiso (yes, it's still the best).
The foundation is where we have a bit of a problem. Now, in terms of application, this one also goes on pretty nicely (though I imagine for acne-prone or pore-prone skin it might not work so well), and the color is pretty nice. It has a slight sheen to it which adds a little extra.
My problem here is simple- there aren't enough shades. This is an unfortunately common problem in the K-Beauty industry, despite being very much an international thing right now. I completely understand that certain shades sell better than others, and for me, a lot of Korean foundations are perfect precisely because they are so pale. However, it would be nice if other skin tones got their own versions of this set. Right now there are only two options T^T.
Do I think this is worth buying? If you're a BTS fan, absolutely. The boys are all over this one, and the card was indeed a nice bonus. However, if you're in it for the products alone, you'll likely find better versions of these elsewhere. Either way, I'm happy with my purchase!
