I'm crying T T
I'd like to think my spice tolerance is middling to pretty good. It certainly comes in handy when you're living in South Korea, as so much of the food here incorporates some degree of spiciness. This appears to be a new Samyang product as I've never seen it before.
I've had the Buldak Bokkeum Myun before and honestly, the spice level is okay! It's more the taste I'm not a fan of since it's kind of sweet. I've also tried the Carbonara variation but as cute as the packaging is, I'm still not a huge fan.
In the case of this actual Gangjeong Chicken version, I really do like the taste and texture. However, the spice...
Hoo boy...
As I said, I'm okay with it usually. Take me out for tteokbokki or join me for some spicy chicken wings by the Han River, I'm down for that! However, there's a certain level of spice where it loses enjoyability, and while this was still a tasty meal, it was a painful one ^^;
Maybe for some people, it's still fine but this had me going through three bottles (literally!) of water (I was all out of milk, thankfully it still works for me), and by the end of it, I knew exactly how the chicken on the packaging felt.
Do I recommend it? Actually, yes! It's good quality, easy to make, and when it wasn't making me weep it was pretty good. Plus, although they were actually out of drinks when I bought this, it seems you can get a free one if you purchase this at GS25.
I wonder how other people will handle this!
